| Harold Washington College is offering a series of workshops designed to help you succeed in
using technology at the college. Most workshops are free to students. To register, complete the registration
form in the Computer Training Lab, Room 404 or Library on the 5th floor. If you have any questions, please call
ext. 3208 or 5760, Monday through Friday. Seating is limited to 10 students so register early.

This workshop will introduce you to email and internet fundamentals. Learn to open, close and send
e-mail with and without attachments. And perform maintenance on your email account.

Where Is My Course Material?...Blackboard Orientation (One-On-One Computer Training) |
Learn the fundamentals about blackboard: signing onto blackboard, course materials, submitting
assignments, printing out course material, view grades, discussion board, digital drop box, and etc.

This workshop will show you how to turn a research question into a paper in 6 steps. In order to get
the most out of this workshop, please come prepared with a research paper topic in mind.

| Introduction to Citations: The why and how of citing information | This workshop will provide info on avoiding plagiarism through the use of citations. An intro to why
and when citations are needed, as well as a brief overview of common citation styles, will be provided.

This class will introduce you to searching the internet and understanding search engines to complete
class assignments.

| Introduction to Word 2007 |
This class will teach you Word fundamentals: opening, closing and saving documents, fonts, margins,
printing, bolding, underlining, and italicizing, centering, inserting dates, selecting and using the speller.

This class will teach you Excel fundamentals: saving, closing, opening documents, fonts, margins,
printing, bolding, underlining and italicizing, centering, printing and simple formulas.

This class will teach you PowerPoint fundamentals: saving, closing, opening presentations,
formatting slides and inserting pictures.

This workshop will introduce you to the internet fundamentals. Learn the basics in locating
information online.
