Technical Help:
Question: Where can I get technical help?
Answer: You can contact the Harold Washington College OIT department via phone at 312.553.3030, stop by our office in Room 403 or send email to hwc_helpdesk@ccc.edu. The Harold Washington College OIT hours of operation are from 8:00am to 7:00pm from Monday to Friday, and from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday's. After hours support is provided by the District Office IT department via phone at 312.553.2600.

Email Accounts/Other Email Related Services:
Question: Do I have to request accounts for email and other services?
Answer: Novell accounts are automatically created for you when you begin working at Harold Washington College. Novell accounts will allow you to log onto Faculty/Staff accounts such as GroupWise email, the CCC network, PeopleSoft and Blackboard.
Question: What is my Novell username and password?
Answer: You can retrieve your Novell username and password at http://myfaculty.ccc.edu website. If you cannot retrieve your account information, you should contact the Harold Washington College Help Desk at 312.553.3030.
Question: What is my email username and password?
Answer: Your email username is the same as your Novell username. Your initial password is your employee ID number.
Question: How can I access my email?
Answer: Your CCC email account can be accessed using the GroupWise client (on campus), or via the Internet at http://email.ccc.edu. The personal computer in your Harold Washington College office has a preconfigured GroupWise client installed. Note: If this is not the case please contact the Harold Washington College Help Desk at 312.553.3030.
Question: How can I change my initial email password?
Answer: Please login to your email account at http://email.ccc.edu, and click on "Tools", and then click on "Options" and then double-click the "Security" icon.
Question: What do I do if I forgot my Novell or email password?
Answer: If you forgot your email account password, please contact the Harold Washington College Help Desk at 312.553.3030. If you forgot your Novell account password, you can retrieve it at http://myfaculty.ccc.edu. Note: If you do not remember the answer to your challenge question, then contact the Harold Washington College Help Desk at 312.553.3030.

Personal Computers For Faculty:
Question: Will I have a personal computer in my office?
Answer: If you are a new staff member please contact your department supervisor for a new personal computer.

Faculty/Staff Access To Network Storage Space:
Question: Do I have access to network storage space? How much? How do I access it?
Answer: Faculty and staff are provided secure personal space (H: drive) on the network. Each account comes with an initial 150 MB of storage space (150 MB is just a starting point and can be increased). If you cannot access your H: drive from your office computer, please contact the Harold Washington College Help Desk at 312.553.3030.

PC Software Installations/Requests:
Question: I need specific software on my PC. How can I get it installed?
Answer: Communicate your software needs directly with the Harold Washington College OIT department in Room 403.
