President's Message

Welcome to the City Colleges of Chicago, and thank you for choosing Harold Washington College as your destination for achieving your educational goals. Whether you are pursuing your associate degree or certificate, transfer credit for your four-year college or university, additional training in a career field, looking to complete your GED, or seeking to enhance your skills through our Continuing Education programs, we are pleased and proud to have you as a part of the Harold Washington College community, and we are eager to provide you with excellent customer service to help you obtain all of your academic goals!

At Harold Washington College you will receive an excellent education in small classes, taught by dedicated and talented professors. Most of our college credit courses are fully transferable to colleges or universities across the country.

During the upcoming academic semester you may meet a Testing Center Coordinator, College Advisor, Financial Aid Advisor, or other Student Services staff and Security staff during the issuance of a CTA U-Pass or Harold Washington College Student ID Card. All of the staff at HWC strive to maximize your learning opportunities offered by the professors in our classrooms and laboratories.

We have a state-of-the-art building that provides a Library & Multi-Media Center, expanded Computer Classrooms, and newly furnished classrooms and laboratories for the arts and sciences. Our multi-purpose rooms can accommodate concert and theatre events, meeting and conference space, as well as office space for faculty and staff. We also have a Student Union Lounge that provides food service.

We have a world-class facility, which is fully equipped with all the latest instructional technologies to accompany the excellence in education provided by our faculty and staff.
